Pune: Traffic Diversions in Yerwada and Khadki Tomorrow For Army Day Celebrations

Yerwada, 14th January 2025: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is set to attend the Army Day parade at the Bombay Engineers Group (BEG) ground in Yerwada on Wednesday (15th January). To facilitate the event, the city’s traffic authorities have announced several restrictions in and around Yerwada, which will be in effect from 7 am to 11 am.
The Pune Traffic Police has imposed a ban on all types of vehicles on both sides of the road between Alandi Road Chowk, Chandrama Chowk, and Holkar Bridge. Additionally, heavy vehicles heading towards Yerwada from Harris Bridge in Khadki, Kharadi Bypass on Nagar Road, Shastri Nagar Chowk, Shadalbaba Chowk, and Vishrantwadi Chowk will be restricted from 6 am to 11 pm.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Amol Zende has urged commuters to use alternative routes. Traffic from Shadalbaba Chowk to Chandrama Chowk in Yerwada towards Khadki will remain closed, and motorists are advised to reroute via Shadalbaba Chowk, Dr. Ambedkar Chowk, Alandi Chowk, Sapras Police Chowki in Vishrantwadi, and Old Holkar Bridge.
Similarly, vehicles heading from Vishrantwadi to Khadki via Holkar Bridge must take an alternative route through Vishrantwadi, Sapras Police Chowki, and Old Holkar Bridge. Traffic from Bopodi Chowk, Khadki Bazaar, and Church Chowk to Holkar Bridge and Yerwada will also be rerouted through Patil Estate and Wakdewadi.
Moreover, the underpass near the Egg Hatchery (Poultry Chowk) on the old Mumbai-Pune Road to Khadki Bazaar will be inaccessible during the restrictions. Authorities have advised commuters to plan their travel accordingly to avoid inconvenience.
