Pune: Traffic Police PSI Booked For Demanding Rs 3.6 Lakh Bribe

Yerwada, 12th May 2021: The anti-corruption bureau (ACB), Pune unit, has booked a Police Sub Inspector (PSI) of the Pune police traffic branch for allegedly demanding a bribe of Rs 3.6 lakh.

An FIR has been registered at Yerwada police station against PSI Basavraj Dhondopa Chite who is posted with the Yerwada traffic division.

According to police, the incident took place between April 6 and May  5. The complainant wanted to put up a hoarding for which he needed a no-objection certificate (NOC). The accused PSI demanded a bribe for giving the NOC.

He complained to the ACB which verified the allegation and the case was registered today. The accused has been booked for offences under relevant sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act.
