Pune Traffic Police Re-Start Fine Collection, Issuing Challan

Pune, 1st August 2022: After a break of one month, the traffic branch of Pune city police have again started stopping vehicles and collecting fines.

After repeated complaints of harassment from the citizens, Police Commissioner Amitabh Gupta and Joint Commissioner of Police Sandeep Karnik had asked the cops to only manage traffic. They were asked to surrender their e-challan machines.

Since Friday last week, the traffic cops are again seen at spots where they were missing for the last one month.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Rahul Shrirame said that earlier the e-challans were being issued with the help of CCTV footage. Now the fine collection has again started.
