Pune: Transgender Person Beats Woman, Tears Clothes During Robbery

Uttamnagar, 4th July 2021: A transgender person allegedly beat up a woman and snatched her money. When another woman tried to intervene, she was beaten with batons and her clothes were torn. The incident took place in Uttamnagar on Saturday.

Based on a complaint from a 40-year-old woman, Uttamnagar police station under Pune city police registered an FIR and arrested the 40-year-old accused.

According to police, the incident took place around 7 am on Saturday. A woman was sitting in front of a vegetable shop in Uttamnagar. The accused tried to forcibly take her money. At that time, when the complainant woman went to rescue her, the accused beat her and tore her clothes and snatched Rs 250 from her.

The accused dragged her on the street and kicked her. Police said that the transgender also thrashed two other women. Assistant Police Inspector Waghmare is investigating further.
