Pune: Tulshibaug market to reopen from June 1

Pune, May 30, 2020: Public life was completely disrupted in Pune after the incursion of Coronavirus. Many famous places were closed due to the lockdown that was carried out to prevent the spread of COVID19. But now, after a four-stage lockdown, the non-containment zone has been exempted. The famous Tulshibaug market in Pune will be reopened from June 1.

Tulshibaug is being reopened after the permission of Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) administration. The Tulshibaug market is known for women and youths shopping was closed for nearly two and a half months due to the lockdown. Tulshibaug does not fall in the containment zone. Therefore, the Tulshibaug area trade association had given a statement to the municipal administration in this regard.

The organization had promised to start the market by implementing all safety measures. Shopkeepers and workers in Tulshibaug have started cleaning the shops. Due to the outbreak of Coronavirus, traders in Tulshibaug had observed a spontaneous shutdown from March 16 to 18. The state then issued a curfew order and the centre issued a lockdown. Therefore, Tulshibaug has been closed for the last two and a half months.
