Maharashtra: 8381 patients discharged in a single day after being cured

Mumbai, May 30, 2020: The number of patients who recovered after a successful battle with corona reached a new high yesterday. In a single day, 8381 patients were discharged from hospitals, out of which 7358 patients are from BrihanMumbai Municipal Corporation area. This is the first time that such a large number of patients have been cured and discharged. So far, 26,997 patients have been discharged across the state. This information was given by Health Minister Rajesh Tope.

Yesterday, 2682 new patients of Corona were reported across the state and at present, 33,124 patients are undergoing treatments in different hospitals state, informed Health Minister Rajesh Tope. Out of 4 lakh 33 thousand 557 samples sent till date to the laboratories, 62 thousand 228 have tested positive. There are 5 lakh, 35 thousand 467 people, in-home quarantine and 35 thousand 967 people in institutional quarantine in the state. The state’s patient doubling rate was 11 days last week to 15.7 days now. The recovery rate in the state is 43.38 percent. The death rate in the state is 3.37 percent.

The state recorded the deaths of 116 infected patients yesterday. Among the deaths reported were Arogya Mandal wise deaths: Thane-58 (Mumbai 38, Thane 1, Bhiwandi 3, Navi Mumbai 9, Raigad 2, Mira-Bhayander 3, Panvel 1, Kalyan Dombivali 1), Nashik-32 (Jalgaon 17, Nashik 3, Malegaon 5, Dhule 7), Pune-16 (Pune Municipal Corporation 13, Solapur 3), Kolhapur-3, Aurangabad-5, Akola-2 (Amravati 2) 77 males and 39 females were among the deaths recorded. Of the 116 deaths reported, 48 patients were aged 60 or over, while 55 patients ranged in age from 40 to 59 years. 13 people were under 40 years. Of these 116 patients, 75 (65 per cent) were diagnosed with high-risk diseases such as diabetes, hypertension and heart disease. The number of deaths due to corona in the state has now reached 2098.
