Pune: ‘Tulsi Baug’ will soon get a new look; PMC to develop the market as a ‘shopping hub’
Pune, 2 March 2021: Pune’s favorite shopping destination Tulsi Baug, will soon get a makeover as the authority decided to develop it as a city’s shopping hub. Many facilities will be available for both customers and sellers. The project will be on a Public-private partnership (PPP) basis. Overall, one crore rupees were allocated for this project in the municipal corporation’s recent budget.
Approximately 1 to 1.5 lakhs people visit the place daily. Along with the shopping market, there are several places with historical importance, which adds to its visitor count. However, the place lacks facilities like a public toilet or drinking water. Moreover, the narrow lanes and the crowd makes the area congested.
Thus, the authorities have decided to develop this place and provide proper infrastructure and basic facilities to the market’s people and sellers. Funds are allocated in the budget, and the work will start soon.
