Pune: Two Boys Lose Lives in the Wagholi Quarry Water

Wagholi, 22nd January 2024: In an incident in the Shivarkar Wasti area of Wagholi, two twelve-year-old boys lost their lives after drowning in quarry water.

The incident took place as a group of four to five children, including Ali Ahmed Sheikh and Karthik Dashrath Dookre, ventured to swim in the water.

Despite the initial excitement of a swim, the situation took a turn, leading to the drowning of Sheikh and Dookre, both residents of Wagholi. The precise details surrounding the incident are under investigation, but preliminary information indicates that the two children were unable to navigate the water safely.

The bodies of the drowned children were recovered by the fire brigade of PMRDA in Wagholi.
