Pune’s Shobha Yatra Displays Harmony in Shri Ram Temple Celebration

Laxmi Road, 22nd January 2024: On the momentous occasion of the dedication ceremony of Prabhu Shri Ram Mandir, the Shri Ram Group, in collaboration with 18 Groups of Kasba Peth, organized an All-Religious Grand Shobha Yatra. The colourful parade witnessed active participation from citizens representing diverse communities, including Punjabi, Bengali, Malayalis, Odia, Rajasthani, Gujarati, and more, who came together to showcase their unique cultural artistry.

Commencing at Sonya Maruti Chowk, the Shobha Yatra traversed through the city and concluded at Phadke Haud. The route was adorned with vibrant representations of Lord Ramchandra, Sita Mata, Shri Lakshmana, and Lord Hanuman, drawing the attention of onlookers. The interfaith parade aimed to celebrate unity and diversity, bringing various communities together in a joyous display of cultural richness.

Following the Shobha Yatra, a formal Shri Ram Pooja took place, and the live telecast of the Shri Ram Temple consecration ceremony in Ayodhya was presented to the gathered crowd. The symbolic distribution of sugar to citizens from a decorated elephant added a touch of tradition and festivity to the occasion.

Prominent political figures, including Bharatiya Janata Party’s Kasba Constituency Election Chief Hemant Rasane, BJP’s former National Secretary Sunil Deodhar, Nationalist Congress Party (Pawar Group) Ganesh Nalavde, and Shiv Sena (UBT Group) Nilesh Raut, participated in the procession. The presence of leaders from various political parties highlighted the support for the cultural celebration.

The successful coordination of the Shobha Yatra was attributed to the efforts of the Shri Ram Group, led by Arvind Kothari, Pushkar Tuljapurkar, Kaushik Kothari, and the dedicated office bearers and workers of the organizing board.
