Pune: Two College Students Arrested After Viral Car Stunt Video Sparks Outrage
Ravet, 17th April 2025: In a follow-up to the shocking car stunt video that went viral from Pimpri Chinchwad’s Ravet area, the police have now arrested two individuals involved in the incident. The accused, identified as Niranjan Santosh Pawar and Atharv Santosh Pawar, both 21-year-old college students and residents of Tathawade, were detained by the Ravet Police.
Senior Police Inspector Nitin Phatangare confirmed that a case has been registered under Section 281 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for rash driving. Notices have been served to both, and further investigation is underway. The incident was reported by Police Constable Ajit Mohar Bendbhar, while Police Constable Rajshree Ghode is handling the probe.
The viral video had shown the duo performing dangerous drifting stunts in Mahindra Thar vehicles on an open PCMC-owned ground near Dmart, raising significant public concern due to the dust, noise, and blatant disregard for safety.
