Pune: Two College Students Drown in Kasarsai Dam Near Hinjawadi
Marunji, 30th May 2024: Two college students drowned on Wednesday afternoon in the Kasarsai Dam near Hinjawadi. Rescue teams from the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) and Wanyajeev Rakshak Maval recovered their bodies from the water.
The Pimpri Chinchwad police identified the deceased as Murali Krishna Bolla (21), residing in Koregaon Park, and Kunal Dubey (21), from Keshavnagar in Mundhwa. Both were students at a degree college in the city.
According to the police, Bolla and Dubey had gone to the dam for an outing with four friends. “The duo entered the water to swim but drowned as they were unable to gauge the depth,” an officer stated. Rescue teams retrieved the students and rushed them to a hospital, where they were pronounced dead.
