Pune: Two Drown In Separate Incidents During Immersion At Gahunje And Moshi
Pune 29th Sept 2023: In a tragic incident reported during the celebration of the last day of ganesh festival, two people including a five-year-old child drowned during an immersion of the lord ganesha idols in Pimpri Chinchwad Police’s jurisdiction. Both incidents were reported on Thursday evening.
According to officials, in one such incident reported in Moshi, a five year old boy identified as Arnav Ashish Patil (5), a resident of Myntra Society of Moshi had gone to an artificial immersion tank next to his society during the immersion when he lost his balance and fell into the immersion tank and died.
In another incident reported near Gahunje, a man who had gone for the immersion drowned in the Pawana river. As the water level was high few people around jumped in to save him but he could not be traced. The rescue team was called for help and they continued the rescue operation till late evening but he could not be found. The police and rescue team officials will continue the search operation on Friday.
