Pune: Two Foreigners Among 4 Women Rescued From Prostitution Racket In Viman Nagar

Viman Nagar, 3rd March 2022: The sleuths from Vimantal police station, Pune city police, have rescued four women, including two foreigners, from a sex racket in Viman Nagar. A few days back, Crime Branch had also busted a prostitution racket in the same area.

Acting on a tip-off received by policeman Sachin Jadhav, a trap was laid in the Sakorenagar area yesterday and an agent was arrested. He had brought the four women in two autorickshaws. The women are from Uzbekistan, Nepal, Mumbai and Delhi.

According to police, after taking bookings on phone the accused agent used to take the women to hotels. The women received half of the money paid by the customers, while the agent kept the other half.

Police have recovered cash and valuables worth Rs 1.92 lakh from the accused. An FIR has been registered against him for offences under the relevant sections of the Prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act (PITA).

The action was taken under the guidance of Additional Commissioner of Police (East region) Namdev Chavan, DCP (Zone 4) Rohidas Pawar, ACP (Yerwada division) Kishor Jadhav and Senior Police Inspector Bharat Jadhav.

The team included Police Inspector (Crime) Mangesh Jagtap, Police Sub Inspector Mangal Jogan and police personnel Pradip Mote, Ganesh Gaikwad, Rupesh Todekar, and women Police Naik Kamble and Burhade.
