Two Held With Mephedrone, Doda Chura Worth Rs 21 Lakh in Dhanori

Pune, 16th May 2026: The Anti-Narcotics Cell (ANC) of Crime Branch of Pune City Police has arrested two persons and seized narcotic substances and other material collectively worth over Rs 21.13 lakh during a raid conducted in Dhanori area of the city.

The action was carried out by Anti-Narcotics Squad 2 on May 15 based on confidential information received by the police.

According to officials, a raid was conducted at Chakradhar Nivas in Siddharth Nagar near Jakat Naka in Dhanori, where police apprehended two accused identified as Karan Singh Premsingh Rajpurohit (41), currently residing in Dhanori and originally from Pali district in Rajasthan, and Raju Singh Sahdev Singh Rajpurohit (42), a resident of Sukhsagar Nagar in Pune and originally from Jalore district in Rajasthan.

Police said the accused were found in possession of 102.91 grams of mephedrone (MD), 102.38 grams of doda chura, two mobile phones, cash and an electronic weighing scale.

The total value of the seized material has been estimated at Rs 21,13,748.

Following the seizure, a case was registered at Vishrantwadi Police Station under relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, including Sections 8(c), 21(c), 17(a) and 29. Further investigation is being carried out by Police Sub-Inspector Mahesh Bhosale of Vishrantwadi Police Station.

The operation was conducted under the guidance of Pune Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar, Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime) Pankaj Deshmukh, Deputy Commissioner of Police Vivek Masal and Assistant Commissioner of Police Shankar Khatke.

The raid was led by Senior Police Inspector Pandit Rejitwad and Assistant Police Inspector Nitinkumar Naik along with officers and personnel from Anti-Narcotics Squad 2.
