Pune: Two Killed And One Injured After Drunk Driver Hits Them From Behind, Driver Arrested
Pune 3rd August 2023: In a tragic incident reported in Shirur, a family of three was hit by a tempo-truck on Pabal Road while they were travelling on a bike between Pabal and Kanhur Mesai villages. Two people including an 8-year-old child have lost their lives while one sustained serious injuries. The incident took place on July 31.
According to police, the deceased identified as Bhausaheb Kauram Chaudhary, his son Ashwin and wife Anita were travelling on a bike when the drunk driver hit them from behind at around 9:15 pm. Bhausaheb and Ashwin were declared dead by the doctors while Anita sustained serious injuries in the accident.
Police have arrested the accused driver identified as Amol Sudam Kadam (30), a resident of Chandoli village in Khed taluka in the case. The medical reports have confirmed that he was under the influence of alcohol at the time of incident. A case has been registered at Shikrapur Police Station under relevant sections. Further investigation in the matter is underway.
