Pune: Two Men Arrested With MD Drugs Worth Rs 10.6 Lakh

Katraj, October 26, 2020: The officials from the anti-extortion cell and anti-narcotics squad (east region) of Pune City Police’s Crime Branch have nabbed two persons and have recovered Mephedrone (MD) drugs worth Rs 10.6 lakh in Katraj.

The arrested persons have been identified as Visarat Ali Sanaulla (32), a native of Bihar, who lived in Dhankawadi, and Brijesh Upendra Sharma (38) of Dongri in Mumbai. An FIR has been registered against the duo with Bharati Vidyapeeth police station. They have been charged for offences under relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.

According to police, the Crime Branch team was patrolling when they found the car of the accused near Katraj chowk yesterday. During checking cops stumbled upon 212.6 gm MD drugs. Police seized the narcotic drugs, two phones and the car, totally worth Rs 15.7 lakh.

“This is the fifth seizure of MD drugs by the Crime Branch in the recent past. We will continue action against narcotics trade”, said DCP (Crime Branch) Bachchan Singh.

Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime) Ashok Morale, DCP Singh and ACP (Crime 1) Surendra Deshmukh supervised the investigation team which was led by Senior Police Inspector Vijay Tikole. The other members of the team included Assistant Police Inspector Bapu Raikar and policemen Rahul Joshi, Shivaji Rahigude, Prashant Bomadandi, Manoj Salunke, Santosh Jachak, Vishal Shinde, Chetan Gaikwad, Vishal Dalvi, Chetan Shirolkar, Amit Chhadidar and Yogesh Mohite.
