Pune: Two Men Booked for Assaulting Sisters After Dispute Over Dog in Wagholi
Pune, 20th September 2026: Two men allegedly assaulted two sisters with stones, kicks, fists and an iron rod following a dispute after a vehicle ran over a pet dog in Wagholi’s Waghmare Vasti on Tuesday (September 15), police said.
Both sisters sustained injuries in the assault. A complaint was filed by Jaishree Chavan at Wagholi Police Station, following which a case was registered against Tarachand Kalram Waghmare and Hiraman Kalram Waghmare.
According to police, one of the accused allegedly drove a vehicle over Chavan’s pet dog. The dog started barking, following which an argument reportedly broke out.
Police said Tarachand Waghmare allegedly assaulted Jaishree Chavan with a stone and also punched and kicked her. She sustained injuries to her head, chest and back, according to the complaint.
Her sister, Vaishali, was allegedly assaulted when she intervened. Hiraman Waghmare allegedly struck her on the head and waist with an iron rod. Both accused allegedly also assaulted the sisters with their hands and kicked them, besides allegedly abusing them, the complaint stated.
Wagholi Police have registered a case against the two accused and are conducting further investigation.
