Pune: Two-Month-Old Baby Girl Found Abandoned At Dargah In Kharadi; Damini Squad Comes To Her Rescue

Kharadi, February 23, 2021: A two-month-old baby girl was abandoned by her parents at a Dargah in Kharadi on Monday. After receiving the information about the child, the police immediately reached the spot and took her into custody. After that, the baby was handed over to the Damini Squad.

According to police, the information was received by Local Intelligence Branch (LIB) policeman Pandurang Nanekar of Chandannagar police station, at 6:30 PM on Monday. He alerted the Damini Squad. Accordingly, Damini Marshal Ujwla Bankar and Suvarna Walke rushed to the spot along with policemen Sameer Sheikh and Sandip Patil.

The team took custody of the baby and brought her to the police station. Many women officers came forward to take care of the baby. A smiling and calm baby attracted the attention of many officials. Head Constable V B Rathod expressed his willingness to adopt the baby Senior Police Inspector Sunil Jadhav, in-charge of Chandannagar police station.

Meanwhile, a case has been registered by the police and a search is going on for the parents of the baby.
