Pune: Two Sanitation Workers Died While Cleaning Underground Sewer At Fiat Company

Shirur, 5th November 2022: Two men died after falling into a chamber while cleaning an underground sewer at Fiat company in Shirur Industrial Estate yesterday.

 

The names of the sanitation workers who died in this incident are Machhindra Dadabhau Kale (42), a resident of Shindodi in Shirur and Subhash Sukhdev Ughde (34) of Shirur in Pune district, Maharashtra.

 

According to Shirur police, on Friday, Kale and Ughde were cleaning the underground drains at the Fiat company in the industrial estate. At that time, Ughde slipped (he was barefoot) and fell into the chamber. Kale jumped into the chamber to get him out. However, neither of them came out.

 

 

Later, they were pulled out by others and admitted to the hospital for treatment. However, doctors declared them dead.

 

Dattatray Dadabhau Kale, a resident of Shindodi, Shirur, has filed a complaint in this case. Accordingly, under the guidance of Police Inspector Balwant Mandge, Police Constable Sarjine is investigating the matter.
