Pune: Two Students Trapped In Fire Rescued By Kothrud Fire Brigade

Kothrud, 17th November 2022: Today, at 4:42 AM, the fire engine of Kothrud fire station was dispatched as soon as the brigade received the report of a fire in Prabha Co-Op Society in Anandnagar area on Paud Road.

 

On reaching the spot, the brigade noticed flames coming from the window of a three-storey building in Prabha Co-Op Society due to a fire on the second floor. At the same time, on getting information that two people were trapped in the burning house, the jawans went up with a hose pipe and started pouring water on one side. Realizing the seriousness of the incident, fire officers Gajanan Pathrudkar and Nitin Ghule immediately put on breathing apparatus sets (breathing equipment) and extinguished the fire in the room.

 

 

Two trapped students were pulled out safely and brought to a safe place. The jawans extinguished the fire in about 10 minutes using a jet spray. The exact cause of the fire could not be ascertained. The students were studying till dawn, they told the fire brigade.

 

Materials like wooden furniture, sofa, cupboard, windows, and others, in the next room, were burnt. One student suffered minor burns.

 

Kothrud fire station officer Gajanan Pathrudkar, driver Ramesh Gaikwad and jawans Nitin Ghule, Sanjay Mahale, Shivaji Kondhare, and Vaibhav Awargand were involved in the rescue operation.
