Pune: Two Women Rescued From Prostitution Racket In Hinjawadi
Hinjawadi, 23rd June 2023: In a significant operation conducted on 21st June, the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) of the Pimpri Chinchwad Police Crime Branch successfully busted a prostitution racket operating under the guise of a massage centre in Hinjawadi. Two women who were victims of this illegal activity were rescued during the operation. The massage centre owner now faces a registered case against them.
The person, identified as Rahul Navnath Kangane (28), who hails from Latur district, was found to be running the illicit prostitution business under the name of Luminous SPA located on the 2nd floor of Suratwala Mark Plaza in Hinjawadi.
The police received information regarding the ongoing prostitution activities at Luminous SPA, prompting them to send an undercover officer to verify the claims. Once confirmed, a well-planned operation was executed, resulting in a raid on the prostitution establishment. Two women who were victims of this exploitative operation were successfully rescued.
Kangane, the mastermind behind the prostitution ring, has been charged under Sections 3, 4, and 5 of the Prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act 1956, and Section 370 (3) of the Indian Penal Code.
