Pune: Two Women Thieves Arrested, Many Cases Detected

Pune, 23rd September 2022: The Bharti Vidyapeeth Police has arrested two women thieves who committed various crimes, including stealing jewellery from jewellers under the pretext of buying gold. Gold ornaments have been seized from them. According to the police, other crimes are likely to be revealed.

The arrested thieves have been identified as Suchitra Kishore Salunkhe (50), resident of Keshavnagar, Mundhwa, and Komal Vinod Rathod (45), resident of Upper Indiranagar.

The women had stolen a gold chain from Shamgiri jewellers on 18th September. On investigation through CCTV footage, police personnel Mitesh Chormol and Abhinay Chaudhary found they were stolen by Suchitra and Komal. Accordingly, under the guidance of Senior Police Inspector Srihari Bahirat a team detained the women. During interrogation, they confessed to committing thefts in Goa, Hyderabad, Panjagutta, Phaltan, and Katraj areas.

Reportedly, they sold the stolen items to Ashwin Solanki (42), a resident of Yerwada.

The women had stolen the gold chain of an elderly woman from the Katraj bus stand. The police have seized the gold chain.
