Pune: Two-Year-Old Boy Dies After Being Run Over By Water Delivery Tempo In Lonikand; Minor Driver And His Father Booked

Lonikand, 19th March 2025: A tragic incident occurred in Lonikand, where a two-year-old boy lost his life after being run over by a water delivery tempo driven by a minor. The police have filed a case against the underage driver and his father.

The deceased has been identified as Malhar Akshay Chapode (2). According to the police, the tempo was delivering water in the area when the minor boy, who was behind the wheel, attempted to drive it forward. During this maneuver, the vehicle accidentally struck Malhar, who came under the front wheel.

Despite being rushed to the hospital immediately, the child succumbed to his injuries before receiving treatment. Following a complaint filed by Akshay Chapode, the police registered a case against the minor driver and his father for negligence.

The Lonikand police are conducting further investigations into the incident.
