Lohgaon, 15th November 2024: Union Minister of State and Pune MP Murlidhar Mohol campaigned for Sunil Tingre, the Mahayuti candidate for the Vadgaonsheri constituency, in the upcoming Maharashtra Legislative Assembly elections. The event also saw the presence of former MLA Jagdish Mulik, NCP Youth Maharashtra State President Suraj Chavan, and other Mahayuti officials.

Mohol predicted a resounding victory for Sunil Tingre, stating, “Punekars always vote for development and the future. If anyone tries to defame someone’s image, it will backfire. Mahayuti candidate Sunil Tingre will win by a landslide, with a margin of one lakh votes.” He further addressed the crowd in Lohgaon, where he highlighted his promise to name the Lohgaon Airport after Jagadguru Shri Sant Tukaram Maharaj. “The decision will soon be confirmed by the Centre,” he assured.

Mohol emphasised that the Mahayuti leadership is working diligently for Tingre’s success, stating, “The tide has changed. Opponents have no argument left, so they resort to personal criticism. Office bearers must work with dedication, not personal motives.” He also noted, “You sent one ‘Anna’ to the Lok Sabha. Now, let’s send another ‘Anna’ to the Assembly. Vadgaonsheri will have two MLAs after Jagdish Mulik is elected to the Maharashtra Legislative Council.”

Former MLA Jagdish Mulik urged supporters not to heed the opposition’s rumours and emphasised that both Sunil Tingre and he are united under Mahayuti.

Suraj Chavan Criticises Opposition, Sunil Tingre Responds to Allegations

Suraj Chavan also took a dig at rival candidate Bapusaheb Pathare, criticising him for a recent meeting in Yerawada with MP Supriya Sule, where an oath was reportedly taken. Chavan remarked, “Instead of taking a word from him about incidents, Supriya Sule should have asked Pathare to ensure that women are not abused, and if such an incident occurs, he should go to the police station.”

In response to accusations related to the Kalyani Nagar Porsche incident, Sunil Tingre defended himself, saying, “My family and I were defamed for no reason. My son’s name was dragged into this without cause. Therefore, we have issued notices to the three parties of the Mahavikas Aghadi. No notice was issued to Sharad Pawar.” He further emphasised his focus on development, saying, “I talk about my work, not about personal issues. Answer why tankers are still running in your Kharadi area.”

Tingre proudly presented a report of Rs 1,500 crore in development work in his constituency, declaring, “Even critics should account for their work. If not, you should stop talking or you’ll get trolled. Though I am an MLA, I have worked as a corporator for Lohgaon. About 70% of my funds have been allocated to Lohgaon.” He appealed to voters to ignore the rumours and false narratives being spread by the opposition.
