Pune University admission to be tough this year as over 27000 students apply
Pune, August 12, 2020: Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) has received over 27,000 applications against 5,659 seats for admissions into various departments at the varsity for the academic year 2020-21. The numbers highlight the tough competition candidates are likely to face to acquire a seat at the Pune university.
A total of 27,787 applications have been made this year for admissions into 96 different post-graduate degrees and diploma courses available across 53 departments. This is the second year of online applications processed by the university. The last date of filling up the application forms was on August 10.
The officials have stated that as many as 16,000 applications are for admission into science and technology streams. The university is now gearing up for the entrance test which is likely to be held online. Followed by which the merit lists will be put up soon.
The entrance test for Bachelor of Vocational (BVoc), BA Liberal Arts, Music, Dance, Drama, BTech Aviation and other degree courses will be held on August 16. The candidates will be able to take the online test sitting at their home on laptop or computer. The entrance test date for diploma courses will be declared soon.
