Pune, October 11, 2020: Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) administration has announced that the backlog examination for final year students will be rescheduled from October 12 to October 17.

All the other final year students will be giving the examination as scheduled from October 12, informed Mahesh Kakade, Director of Examination and Evaluation, SPPU.

When asked the reason for rescheduling, Kakade said, “We were expecting two lakh students to appear for the mock examination, and it has come to our notice that almost 45,000 students didn’t appear for the mock”.

Major chunk of students have been shifted to October 17 for their examination. “Many suggestions were given to the authorities, and we took this decision yesterday late at night,” Kakade told Punekarnews.in.

Kakade further said, “It was a matter of concern to us that as many as 70,000 students did not appear for even a single attempt of the mock examination. Most of the students were backlog students. Therefore, we have made this decision to make the process easy for the students”.

SPPU has also pushed SMS and emails to the students who will be appearing on October 17, informed Kakade. “We have only considered this decision so that students are at ease. We have also instructed the college authorities to inform respective students”, he said.
