Pune University Faculty Recruitment Sees Deadline Push Amid High Applicant Interest
Pune, 10th December 2025: Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) has extended the deadline for submitting applications for its ongoing faculty recruitment drive. Eligible candidates can now apply until December 21.
The university had issued a recruitment advertisement on September 13, 2024, for 111 teaching vacancies, including posts of Professor, Associate Professor and Assistant Professor across various departments.
According to the Higher and Technical Education Department’s decision dated October 6, 2025, the original window for online applications was from November 8 to December 7. Candidates who had already applied were required to submit hard copies of their applications and supporting documents to the Administration Teaching Section by December 12.
With the extended schedule, online applications will now be accepted until December 21, while hard copies can be submitted until December 26.
The university has also allowed candidates who applied earlier under the September 13 advertisement to make corrections or updates to their applications. New candidates may also apply during the revised period, said Acting Registrar Dr. Jyoti Bhakare.
