Pune University Launches Blockchain Technology Program for UG; Applications Open Until April 30
Pune, 22nd March 2025: Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) has officially launched the admission process for its undergraduate program in Blockchain Technology for the 2025-26 academic year. Interested students can apply through the university’s website before the deadline of April 30, 2025.
SPPU is the first university in India to offer a specialized Bachelor’s degree in Blockchain Technology. With Blockchain technology rapidly expanding across various industries due to its ability to enhance transparency and secure data, it has become a crucial tool for both governmental and private organizations.
The university introduced this course to equip students with the necessary skills to meet the growing demand for Blockchain professionals, preparing them for careers in this emerging field.
Dr. Aditya Abhyankar, Head of the Department, emphasized that Blockchain is a revolutionary technology in the digital age and is being increasingly adopted across industries. “The need for Blockchain is particularly rising in the logistics sector,” he added.
According to Dr. Suresh Gosavi, Vice-Chancellor of SPPU, Blockchain technology is poised to address current and future challenges in security, transparency, and efficiency, with its demand expected to continue growing.
