Pune University Promotes Students To Second Year Without Any Examination
Pune, February 8, 2021: The students enrolled in the Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) ‘school of open learning’ program have complained that the university has not provided them with study material and has promoted to the second year without examination.
Many students who enrolled in the first year of BA and BCom courses have not registered for the second year. They affirmed that they do not trust the university as it has not delivered its promises. Also, there is no point in registering for the second year without any studies.
Students have also complained that only three to four lectures were conducted in the authorized centres before lockdown. University has not provided students with study materials. Moreover, the online lecture on the official website covered a few syllabus topics. The students were left to fend for themselves without any university communication.
The authorities have assured that the matter will be discussed with the concerned department. Appropriate action will be taken regarding the issue for improving the quality of education.
