Pune, 26 February 2021: Demanding to conduct the examination for the first and second term together, the Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) senate members said that conducting both the exams together will not disturb the academic calendar. The Covid-19 pandemic has already disturbed the academic calendar.

The senate members put up their demand before vice-chancellor Nitin Karmalkar. The first term examinations will begin on March 15 and will go on for over one and a half months. After that, the second term will begin. According to the varsity administration, the academic year 2020-2021 will end on May 31.

But if the second term begins in May, it will not end on time. Thus, to begin the academic year 2021-22 on time, we must concurrently run both the terms, demanded senate members.

Senate member Maniyar had made the demand during the senate meeting held in January. However, this point was ignored then.
