Pune, May 24, 2020: As Maharashtra government has not officially announced the cancellation of the final year examination; Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) has planned to conduct the examination. The proposal for the new exam was approved at the Vidya Parishad (education council) meeting on Saturday. In this, 50 marks of one and a half hour examination have been approved.

Due to the Coronavirus outbreak, the Pune University has cancelled the examinations of first and second-year students and they will be given admission in the next year on internal assessment. Final semester (last year) students will have to appear for exams. For this, Pune University has already announced that written examination will be held in the traditional way (pen and paper).

The backlog papers of the final year students will be held from 1st to 15th July. The question papers will be made at the college level and the papers will be checked in the college itself. Regular final year examinations will be held from 16th to 31st July. The university will prepare the papers and send them to the colleges.

The test of 50 marks will be taken in an hour and a half. These answer sheets will be checked at the college level only. Therefore, it will be possible to check the answer sheet early and get the result in time.

Pune University has students from Maharashtra, but also a large number of students from abroad and other students. All these students are at home. Therefore, a supplementary examination will be held in July for the students who cannot appear for the examinations. No student will be deprived of the exam. Also, if the students can’t come to Pune and take the exam, it has been planned that they can choose a convenient center in the jurisdiction of the university.
