Pune: UP Social Worker Raped At Gun-Point, Accused Arrested

Uruli Kanchan, 9th January 2023: A 39-year-old social worker, who came to Pune from Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh for naturopathy, was raped at gunpoint. As soon as the woman filed a complaint, Hadapsar police registered a case and arrested the accused.

The arrested accused has been identified as Sanjay Bajirao Bhosale (52), a resident of Uruli Kanchan. The said incident occurred in a flat in Jayaprakash society in Hadapsar.

According to the information given by the police, the victim is a social activist from Uttar Pradesh. She has a spine problem. After initially undergoing allopathy treatment, she decided to come to a naturopathic centre for treatment. Accordingly, she came to the naturopathy centre at Uruli Kanchan for treatment.

At that time, she needed a room on rent for her stay. Hence, the woman asked Sanjay Bhosale about the room. Bhosale called her on the pretext of showing the room. He then raped her with the threat of a pistol. Further investigation is being conducted by Assistant Police Inspector Chetan Thorbole.
