Pune, 10th January 2023: The Urban Poor Health Scheme of the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has been digitised. The PMC will now accept applications for this scheme online, where applicants can upload their documents and download a copy of their application and take it to the PMC office alongside their documents for verification. If their application is successfully verified, they will receive a digital copy of Urban Poor Health Scheme Card which they can use to avail the scheme’s benefits in the city’s hospitals.

According to PMC officials, the digital application procedure will make it easier to process applications, verify documents and prevent forgeries and fraudulent applications. The PMC will also use Artificial Intelligence (AI) during the digital application procedure to prevent any misuse of the scheme

Under this scheme, those who live in slum areas under the jurisdiction of the PMC, or are under the poverty line with a yellow ration card or have an annual income of up to one lakh rupees will receive free treatment at the Pune Municipal Hospital and will receive a 50% discount on the total cost of necessary treatments at private clinics.
