Pune: Vaccination Drive On 28th May For Hajj Pilgrims; Administration Appeals To Get Vaccinated Before Performing Hajj

Pune, 24th May 2023: As per the orders of the state government, like every year, the Health Department of Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) will conduct encephalitis, polio, and influenza H1N1 vaccination campaign for Hajj pilgrims. About 1,200 Hajj pilgrims will be vaccinated in this campaign which is scheduled on 28th May.

Every year, the Muslim community has to go through many formalities before performing Hajj. Along with this, they need to be medically examined and vaccinated. After that, they are allowed to perform Hajj. This year also the pilgrims going for Hajj from the city will be vaccinated. For this, this vaccination will continue from 9 am to 3 pm at Kamla Nehru Hospital in Mangalvar Peth.

All pilgrims going for Hajj will be vaccinated against encephalitis and polio, and for pilgrims above 65 years of age, encephalitis, polio, and influenza H1N1 vaccination is required. Therefore, Municipal Commissioner Vikram Kumar is appealing that the citizens who have registered for Hajj should get vaccinated.
