Vadgaonsheri, 13th November 2024: Bapusaheb Pathare, the official candidate of Mahavikas Aghadi from the Nationalist Congress Party – Sharadchandra Pawar (NCP-SP) for the Vadgaonsheri Constituency in the upcoming Maharashtra Legislative Assembly Elections, has pledged to immediately complete the Kharadi-Shivane Road project to address traffic congestion on the Pune-Ahilyanagar Road.

Pathare made this commitment during a campaign round in the Kharadi area, where he met with citizens. The campaign received an enthusiastic response from the public. He also campaigned in Yashwant Nagar, Borate Nagar, Raghavendra Nagar, Tukaram Nagar, Shejwal Park, Sonai Park, and Bidi Kamgar Vasahat. Officials and activists of Mahavikas Aghadi also participated in the campaign.

The Kharadi-Shivane road project, once completed, will significantly reduce traffic congestion on city roads. As an alternative route, it will benefit both Pune residents and the entire constituency. Pathare emphasised that this road has been neglected for the past 10 years. “Who blocked this road? Why was a road that could have solved the traffic jam problem left incomplete?” Pathare asked. He further explained that he had repeatedly requested the completion of the Kharadi-Vadgaonsheri-Kalyani Nagar-Shivane riverside road through correspondence with government officials, the Guardian Minister, and the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) Commissioner. Despite these efforts, the administration has failed to complete the project.

Former Rajya Sabha MP Adv. Vandana Chavan, who also participated in the walk, expressed her confidence in Pathare’s election. “Pathare has carried out various development works in the constituency during his tenure, which will benefit him in the elections. He will serve this constituency well as a capable representative of the people,” she said.
