Pune: Valuables worth Rs 45 Lakh Stolen in Five House Burglaries Across City in a Single Night

Pune, 17th June 2025: Thieves targeted multiple residential areas across the city on Saturday night, looting property worth over ₹45 lakh in five separate house burglaries. Incidents were reported in Hadapsar, Dhayari, Koregaon Park, and Market Yard, with the largest theft taking place in Hadapsar, where jewellery and cash worth nearly ₹39 lakh were stolen from a single flat.
Major Theft in Hadapsar
A woman from Sejal Garden Society, located behind Vaibhav Cinema in Hadapsar, filed a complaint after discovering the burglary. According to the police, the family had locked their flat and gone out on Saturday evening. Thieves broke the door lock and looted gold and diamond jewellery worth ₹38.88 lakh, along with ₹55,000 in cash, from a cupboard. The crime was discovered when the family returned home on Sunday. Assistant Police Inspector Deepika Jawanjal is investigating the case.
Additional Burglaries Reported:
Hadapsar – Gopalpatti Area: Thieves stole gold ornaments worth ₹29,000 from a flat in KGN Park Society. A youth has filed a complaint, and a case has been registered at Hadapsar Police Station.
Dhayari – Rajveer Residency: A burglary occurred around 10 PM on Saturday. The thieves broke into a flat and stole gold jewellery worth ₹4.59 lakh. A 40-year-old man lodged a complaint, and a case has been registered at Nanded City Police Station.
Market Yard – Bibwewadi-Kondhwa Road: In Ganantra Complex near Vastunagar, thieves made away with US dollars, a gold bracelet worth ₹65,000, and a mobile phone. A 50-year-old man reported the theft at Market Yard Police Station.
Koregaon Park – Narangibaug Area: An attempted burglary was reported at the residence of an elderly woman in Nityanand Complex on Bundgarden Road. Thieves broke the lock but fled before stealing anything. The woman filed a complaint at Koregaon Park Police Station.
Police across various jurisdictions are continuing investigations. The series of burglaries has raised concerns about residential security, especially with the monsoon holiday season underway.
