Pune, September 27, 2019: Even after 48 hours, two persons who went missing in Wanowrie area during Wednesday night’s rain fury, are yet to be traced. Meanwhile, on Friday police found the car of one of them.

Victor Sangale(26), a chartered accountancy student and amputee, and senior manager Salim Shaikh (45) are the names of missing persons.

According to officials from Wanowrie police station under Pune city police, they searched for the two of them along Bhairoba Nullah whole day but could not find the duo. However, Victor’s car has been found.

Victor, who is a cycling enthusiast and had returned from an expedition to North-East states on Wednesday, was on his way to a cousin’s house when his car was swept away from a bridge Bhairoba Nullah near Ganga Satellite society in Wanowrie. They were speaking over the phone when Victor went missing over the bridge. He had informed his cousin about the rising water level in the nullah. He was driving a white Tata Tiago with license plate MH 12 RK 8732.

Victor’s car was found to the Nullah bridge in between St.Patrick’s Cathedral and Vidya Bhavan College.

Salim Shaikh’s brother had put out a WhatsApp message stating: “Salim Shaikh, my brother has been missing for over 12 hours now. He was driving to Wanowrie when his car was swept away due to floodwaters at the bridge near Ganga Satellite and Raheja Gardens. He was driving a Honda Civic car. If anyone has more information or has seen anybody there at the spot then please contact emergency services and also the family members on their mobile numbers.”
