Pune 12th August 2023: The villagers of Bhugaon, a village in Pune having a population of around 45,000 on Thursday inaugurated a 600-meter stretch on the National Highway that was concretised by them through crowdfunding. The road that passes from the village has been lying in a bad condition for a long time. The authorities failed to listen to the demands of villagers to concretise the road despite holding a protest in 2018.

After realising that the authorities are not taking their demands seriously, the villagers decided to take up the matter on their own and decided to collect money through crowdfunding. The work was allotted to a villager who was into a construction business. The 600-meter long and 7-feet wide road was finally concretised by the contractor in 15 days.
