Pune, 20th May 2021: Where there is a will, there is a way. This cliché proverb once again has proved true.

Youngsters from Bhor taluka’s Mhalwadi village, about 50 km away from Pune city, decided to continue the education of school-going children, by making the village a big school. The youngsters discussed the idea with the village seniors who too responded in affirmative.

Rajesh Bodke, who took the initiative in painting the village walls with science and maths, said, “We all were very upset with the school education scenario of the village. Due to the pandemic, the schools were closed. Similarly, due to poor connectivity online education too was not smooth.

So we came together and put forward the idea of painting the walls with the school study material. Villagers too liked the idea and came forward and offered their walls for painting.”

Accordingly, the painters and schoolteachers chalked out a plan and started the painting. Now, the entire village has walls painted with the school syllabus.

Bodke paid the entire amount of Rs 1.5 lakh required for the painting. Nearly, 85 walls of the village are painted with phonetics, mathematics tables, science formulas, geography and history. The school teachers through pictures are explaining the concepts to the students.
