Viman Nagar, 26th November 2023: In an unprecedented display of unity, more than 100 residents, led by community leaders Sandeep Singh, Lt. Col. Sarvate, Anita Hanumante, Pawan Sharma, Rita Gosh and Minal Deshmukh and others came together for a crucial meeting at the Konark Nagar Club House. Frustrated by the persistent neglect from authorities, the residents demanded attention to basic needs and rights that have been ignored for an extended period.

The community voiced concerns about rampant encroachments, highlighting the absence of walkable footpaths due to shops and plastic huts overtaking the locality. The encroachment issue has not only confined itself to footpaths but has spilled over onto the roads. Residents emphasized the lack of adequate water supply, grappling with challenges in garbage collection. Additionally, the late-night party culture, with loud music persisting until the early hours, has become a nuisance.

Residents expressed their frustration with the authorities, pointing out the ineffective responses received when individually approaching both PMC and the police. The meeting served as a powerful platform to collectively address these pressing issues, sending a strong message to authorities that the community demands immediate action and resolution.

In a bold move, the community has collectively decided that if the problems remain unresolved, they will boycott the next corporation election. This resolute stance underscores the severity of the situation, emphasizing that tangible action is crucial for retaining community support in future electoral processes. Authorities are now under heightened pressure to address the longstanding concerns of Viman Nagar residents
