Pune: Viral Video Shows People Collecting Cash at Navale Bridge Accident Site
Pune, 16th November 2025: A horrific accident on Pune’s Navale Bridge on Thursday evening left eight people dead and more than 20 others injured, after a speeding truck ploughed into multiple vehicles during peak traffic hours.
According to police, the truck crashed into a tempo, an auto-rickshaw and several two-wheelers before ramming into a CNG-powered four-wheeler that became lodged in front of it. Within minutes, the four-wheeler caught fire, trapping the occupants inside. Five people in the vehicle died on the spot, while three others — including the truck driver and cleaner — also lost their lives.
The impact was so severe that several bodies were difficult to identify, officials said. Eyewitnesses described scenes of panic and chaos as commuters rushed to rescue the injured. The truck eventually toppled onto the roadside after the series of collisions.
In a disturbing turn, a video has emerged from the accident site showing some individuals collecting cash that had fallen from the damaged vehicles instead of helping the injured. The clip, now viral on social media, has triggered widespread criticism and raised concerns about the erosion of basic humanity.
Police have identified the deceased as Swati Santosh Navalkar (37) of Dhayari Phata; Shanta Dattatray Dabhade (54) and Dattatray Chandrakant Dabhade (58) of Dhayari Phata; Mokshita Hemkumar Reddy (3) of Chikhali; Dhananjay Kumar Koli (30); Rohit Dnyaneshwar Kadam (25); Rustum Ridar Khan (35), truck driver from Kirwari Tehsil Hasoli, Kisangad district, Rajasthan; and Mushtaq Hanif Khan (31), cleaner from Manapuri Tehsil, Alwar district, Rajasthan.
