Pune: Vishwabharati Defence Academy Organizes ‘Fence the Future’ Workshop by National Player Mokshada

Pune, 17th December 2023: Vishwabharati Defence Academy (VDA), a premier leadership training institute, recently hosted the ‘Fence the Future’ workshop conducted by national-level fencer Mokshada Choudhary.

VDA, led by dedicated Army officers with illustrious careers spanning decades, aims to mould young individuals into leaders capable of joining the esteemed branches of the Indian Defence Forces.

In a bid to emphasize the significance of sports in daily life, Mokshada Choudhary, a talented national-level fencer, visited the academy to conduct the workshop. At just 16 years old, Mokshada has been excelling in women’s fencing at the national level for the past two years, nurturing dreams of representing the country in the Olympics in the near future. She embarked on her fencing journey at the age of 12, demonstrating remarkable dedication and hard work to rise to the national level.

Mokshada highlighted the crucial role sports play in students’ lives by instilling discipline, time management, and resilience—qualities essential for academic and professional success. Through rigorous training and commitment, students not only acquire discipline but also learn effective time management, a valuable skill in balancing studies and extracurricular activities.

She emphasized that facing challenges, and experiencing victories and defeats in sports fosters resilience, preparing students to handle setbacks in their academic and future professional pursuits. These experiences contribute to building character, confidence, and teamwork, shaping well-rounded individuals capable of navigating obstacles, adapting to change, and excelling in various spheres of life. Beyond physical fitness, engaging in sports offers a myriad of psychological benefits that contribute to overall mental health and emotional resilience.

In addition, Mokshada announced her upcoming workshops in various schools as part of the “Fence the Future” campaign. These workshops aim to promote fencing as a career option and sporting event. Fencing, an ancient art transformed into a modern Olympic sport, not only provides a thrilling physical activity but also cultivates discipline, strategy, and sportsmanship.

During the workshop, students at VDA’s Shivneri centre enthusiastically participated, gaining in-depth knowledge about fencing as a career option. The event concluded with a vote of thanks conducted by Hony Capt Gaurav.
