Pune: Visitors’ Room at PMC Now Open Only on Mondays, Announces Municipal Commissioner Naval Kishore Ram

Pune, 21st June 2025: In a move to streamline citizen grievance redressal, Municipal Commissioner Naval Kishore Ram has announced that the visitors’ room at the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) will now remain open only on Mondays. The decision comes after assessing public response and feedback received over the past few months.
Earlier, the visitors’ room was open twice a week—on Mondays and Thursdays—a schedule introduced by former Municipal Commissioner Dr. Rajendra Bhosale to facilitate direct interaction between citizens and civic officials. However, Commissioner Ram has revised this arrangement to focus efforts and improve efficiency.
According to the new order, the visitors’ room will now operate every Monday from 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM. On the first Monday of each month, Municipal Commissioner Ram himself will be present to hear grievances. On the remaining Mondays, the responsibility will be handled by the Additional Commissioner.
In order to ensure swift resolution of complaints, officers from key departments such as encroachment, construction, water supply, and income tax will also be present during these sessions.
This adjustment, Commissioner Ram stated, is based on an evaluation of the visitors’ room functioning over the last five to six months. “The goal is to make the process more focused and effective for both citizens and officials,” said a senior civic officer.
