Pune: Volleyball and Football Championships Conclude in Surendra Pathare Foundation’s Sports Festival

Kharadi, 6th December 2023: The volleyball and football championships of the sports festival organized by the Surendra Pathare Foundation concluded on Sunday (December 3). Both championships took place at the Sportsage ground in Kharadi, featuring 350 players from various societies in Kharadi, Vimannagar, Kalyaninagar, Vadgaonsheri, Dhanori, Yerwada, and Lohgaon participating in the volleyball championship, and 800 in the football championship. Parents also turned out in large numbers to support the event.

“During the SPF sports competition, citizens from different societies across East Pune come together to enjoy this sports festival to the fullest. All contestants showcase their distinctive and skillful game with sportsmanship and team spirit. Through sports, harmony is created among citizens from various societies, contributing to the establishment of equality in the broader society,” said Surendra Bapusaheb Pathare, President of Surendra Pathare Foundation.

The recently concluded volleyball and football championships featured intense matches, with ‘Kharadi Panther’ from Forrest County Society winning the volleyball championship, and ‘KP Challengers’ from Kumar Primavera Society emerging as runners-up. In the Box Football Championship, Four Lions secured victory in the under-12 category, Nyati Blasters triumphed in the under-16 category, and the Grow Pro Football Academy team claimed the open category title.

Surendra Pathare Foundation has successfully organized a variety of outdoor sports, including Swimming, Skating, Lawn Tennis, Volleyball, Box Football, Table Tennis, Badminton, and Cricket, as well as Chess and Carrom, in its cultural capital Pune as part of the ‘SPF Sports Competition.’
