Pune: Wagholi Residents To File PIL Regarding Road Issues And Accidents
Pune, 11th January 2023: At least 200 people of Wagholi sought assistance from Lonikand Police following an accident involving drivers travelling on the wrong side of the road on Ivy Estate Road. For more than eight years, the 800-meter-long road connecting Ivy Estate to Pune Nagar road has been in poor condition. A woman rider died after falling off her bike on 9th January 2023.
A resident of Wagholi’s Ivy Estate Society and the director of the Wagholi Housing Society Association (WHSA), Santosh Krishna, claimed that the road’s 800 metres are unfinished and unresurfaced. He further said residents are planning to file a PIL.
Demand from locals includes a well-built access road, blinkers, eliminating encroachments, deploying more police officers, and rumbler strips for reducing vehicle speed.
