Pune : Wagholi Water Supply Issue Reaches Assembly Speaker, Local MLA Writes To Him To Intervene
Pune 22nd July 2023: The residents of Wagholi have been facing water shortage problem for a long time and the issue was not solved even after being included in the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC). The Member of Legislative Assembly fron Shirur Haveli Constituency Ashok Pawar has now requested Legislative Assembly Speaker Rahul Narvekar to intervene to solve the problem.
Pawar in his letter to Narvekar said that Wagholi was included in the municipal corporation about 1.5 years ago but the citizens of this area are yet to receive basic civic facilities. “The tanker mafia operating in the area is looting the citizens as the water shortage has turned out to be a major problem here. A meeting with the PMRDA commissioner was also arranged to solve issues related to basic facilities in the area on 20th January 2023 but there has been no implementation since then” he said.
“The water shortage problem in Wagholi can be solved if the water is supplied from Bhama Askhed Dam. Hence this demand should be taken in a positive manner” Pawar stated.
