Around 10:30 pm, while Rajesh was engrossed in his responsibilities, he received a phone call. Temporarily excusing himself, he stepped away to attend to the call. During this momentary absence, Chandrakant Solanki and a companion confronted Rajesh Das. What began as a verbal altercation quickly escalated into a physical altercation. Solanki, wielding a beer bottle, violently struck Rajesh Das, inflicting a deep wound on his right knee. Overwhelmed by the sudden assault, Rajesh Das fled the scene, leaving behind a trail of blood.

After the ordeal, the injured and distressed Das sought medical attention at Sassoon Hospital. Despite receiving treatment, the persistent pain prompted him to return home for additional rest instead of immediately reporting the incident to the police. It wasn’t until the subsequent Monday that he visited the Mundhwa police station to formally file a complaint regarding the incident.

In response to Rajesh Das’s complaint, the police initiated legal proceedings against Chandrakant Solanki and his associate. The charges, as stipulated in the FIR, include sections 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 324 (voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons or means), 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace), and 34 (common intention) of the Indian Penal Code. The investigation into this distressing incident is being led by API Samir Karpe of the Mundhwa Police Station.

The altercation, which began as a heated exchange of words, tragically transformed into a violent incident, with Solanki using a beer bottle to inflict a severe injury to Rajesh Das’s right knee.
