Pune: Wakad Resident Loses Valuables Worth Rs 7.6 Lakhs from Luggage During Journey from London to Mumbai

Wakad, 2nd January 2024: Jewellery valued at Rs 7.6 lakhs was stolen from the luggage of a person returning from London. The 44-year-old resident of Wakad returning from the United Kingdom, has filed a complaint at the Wakad Police Station, Pimpri Chinchwad police.

The incident occurred between December 9 and December 11, during which the complainant returned via a London Mumbai flight. He also took a Jetty trip on the way. Upon leaving London, he handed over his four bags of luggage, left unsealed, to Saudia Airlines. These bags contained clothes, perfume, chocolates, electrical appliances, and gold ornaments weighing 152 grams.

Upon arrival at Mumbai airport, Kamat discovered that his bags were missing. Subsequently, he reported the incident and deposited the bag IDs at Mumbai airport. The bags were later delivered to Wakad via a courier company. However, upon inspection, Kamat found that his jewellery, valued at Rs 7.6 lakhs, was missing from one of the bags.

He promptly lodged a complaint with the Wakad police, who have initiated an investigation into the matter. The case has been registered against unknown individuals.
