Pune: Water Cut in Bhawani Peth-Swargate for Pipeline Overhaul From January 5 to 8

Pune, 5th January 2024:In a bid to enhance water infrastructure, the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has announced a temporary disruption in water supply in the Bhawani Peth-Swargate area, including Shankar Sheth Road, due to the completion of work on a newly laid 1473 mm diameter water pipe. The disruption will occur from January 8 to January 22, with water supplied once a day during this period.

To manage the situation, an alternative water supply arrangement has been made through an 800 mm diameter water channel. The PMC’s Water Supply and Pumping Department has urged citizens in the affected areas to cooperate during this period.

Areas Affected:
– Swargate Police Colony, Jhagdewadi, Khadakmal Ali, Ghorpade Peth, Mominpura, Timber Market, Mahatma Phule Peth, Ganj Peth, Guruwar Peth, Dhobi Ghat, Khadak Police Colony, Lohiya Nagar, Inamke Mala, Ekbote Colony, Kashewadi, Guru Nanak Nagar, Jawaharlal Nehru Road, entire Bhawani Peth area, Balaji and Bhawani Mata Temple area, New Nana Peth, Harka Nagar, Chudaman Talim, etc.

Specific Areas Receiving Water Supply Once a Day:
– Bhagwandas Chawl, Waymaker Chawl, Rajewadi, Patriar Chawl SRA, Bhawani Peth Police Colony, Somwar Peth Police Colony, Barke Ali, Padamji Society Premises, Mahifil Wada, Sathewada, Ramesh Furniture Premises, Cycle Society, Mukundnagar, Vehicle Depot, Apsara Talkies Premises, Tilak Maharashtra University, CPAW Quarter, Ranka Hospital Precinct, Shankarsheth Road ST Bus Station to Dhobi Ghat Right Side, Meera Society, Laxmi Narayan Settlement, Mitra Mandal Colony.

Residents in these areas are advised to manage their water usage efficiently during this period. The PMC assures that the completion of this infrastructure work will contribute to a more robust water supply system in the long run.
