Pune: INS Shivaji Launches ‘Veer Shivaji Cycling Expedition’ in Pursuit of ‘FIT INDIA’ Vision

Lonavala, 5th January 2024: In alignment with the ‘FIT INDIA’ vision, INS Shivaji is embarking on an Ultra Cycling Expedition titled Veer Shivaji Cycling Expedition as a part of the Republic Day celebrations. The commencement of this event was officiated by Cmde Mohit Goel, NM, Commanding Officer, INS Shivaji, from Lonavala on January 4, 2024.

The expedition is structured in two phases, covering the route from Lonavala to INS Valsura at Jamnagar, Gujarat, and then returning. Over the span of approximately 20 days, participants will traverse a distance exceeding 2000 kilometers. Throughout the journey, the team aims to engage with the local community, raising awareness about India’s maritime heritage and embodying the illustrious legacy of Chhatrapati Shivaji.
